If you have the water pump back on, put the lower hose on, pull it up higher than the water pump, tie it off so it won't fall down.
Then either take the thermostat out, or disconnect a heater hose, or remove a plug where the heater hose would connect, or remove the bypass hose, something to allow water to freely pass through the engine.
Hang the garden hose in the lower rad hose, turn it on a medium flow, start the engine and bring the RPM up to a mid level.
Let the engine run with the hose running. When the water has run clear for a bit, it is flushed. Just be careful not to let the new pump run dry.
How sludged is the block? If it is severely rusty to the point sludge has built up in the bottom of the water jacket, no amount of flushing will get it all out. If it has freeze plugs, and the sludge is built up to the plugs, be ready for them to start failing. The sludge is corrosive.
If it has freeze plugs, and you use any kind of flush chemical, good chance it will start a plug to leaking. If they are accessible and you have the time, now might be a good time to do a preventive replacement.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
