I have a bulging disk pushing on the sciatica nerve. Surgen says we could do surgery but not the best alternative for a tall large person like me. I am on a plan to see if it will correct itself. MRI. Started with cortisone shot. Ice to reduce the swelling. Mine was so bad my pain would go to a 8 or 9 if I sat in any chair for under 3 minutes. 5 is pain you cannot sit still for, 10 is screaming uncontrollably. I could only lie down to get relief or stand for short periods of time. Chiropractor, took me several tries to find one that knew what she/he was doing. Deep Muscle Massage Therapy. Given the pain I was in I now really watch what I lift or how I twist. Eliminate inflammatory foods as best you can, I see this as an emerging knowledge area. Weight control as best you can. When I do something to irritate it I get to the Chiropractor, don’t wait, really helps. Tylenol and or pain medicine as needed. I cannot take Advil, but if you can try that. I have been doing much better lately. I have not had to have a second cortisone shot. Good Luck. Paul
