My take on the question was that he wants to add a 3pt to an older tractor and is building it himself (DIY). He wants to get the 3 point links the right length so that if he were to use a 3pt implement that requires a PTO (3pt mower, 3pt bush hog, snow blower, 3pt fertilizer spreader, etc) that the links are the right length. If you look at my post, the length the 3pt lower lift ball is behind the end of the PTO shaft varies with the 3pt hitch category. If you look into the ASABE standards, both 3pt hitch and drawbar standards reference position in relation to the PTO shaft. The OP was correct in asking for the measurement from the PTO shaft.
I understand your reasoning for using the factory drawbar, but I have never run an drawbar mounted snow blower and realize there are 3pt implements that require a PTO so I felt it was best to answer the OPs question rather than redirect him in another direction.
