hi there,
i've used this site on and off for a long time. i've been painting my ford 4000 backhoe lately .... the 4th time over the decades. i'll get a photo up as i learn the ropes. 4cyl diesel and runs well enough for my purposes ... work around the yard, lifting and grading with the occasional trench. i picked it up in the no cal sierras and now in so cal.
i just discovered that the original fuel return standpipe in the fuel tank had broken off ... probably a long time ago. it took a while but i noticed that my engine oil kept getting more clear?? and the oil pressure dropped. finally did my homework and remade the soldered joints in the bypass return junction. seems to be working.
i'll keep pecking away at the repairs as needed. i recently had a bucket hose break ... originals i think almost 60 years old. i got a bunch of extra hoses when i bought the machine in the 70s. i've finally run out of spares. had to weld the old ford hydraulic end onto new jic adapters and will do this going forward. regular jic adapters would not fit well in the control valve compartment.

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
