I know close to nothing about the IHC balers, but I have been looking for a good Farmhand 8 bale accumulator to put on my JD 336 baler. My neighbor had this nice 445 wire tie baler in his shed I noticed last week when I stopped by to visit. Thought about it all week and went over today and asked if he ever intended to use it or if be might sell it (it was actually his Dads). He said he didnt plan on using it. I asked what he wanted. He said $1500.00 for the baler, accumulator, and a Welco bale fork. I couldn't get him paid fast enough. My question to anyone with experience is if the IHC 445 is a decent baler? I assume parts would be tough. The fellow I got it from, 73 years old, says it rarely would miss a tie as long as the wire had plenty of oil on it, which I have to do with my JD 336 as well. It has not been used in several years, but always inside. Any good or bad about the baler? Both look in very good shape. Thanks - Bob

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
