i removed the glow plugs and give it some mystery oil in the cyl's . turned it over with the belt pully by hand back and forth a few revolutions then some forward revolutions and everything felt good. pulled oil pan drain plug , no water and oil is clean. must have been changed prior to parking. pulled fuel filter drains and caoght some fuel. no water either nor dirt. good sign. changed filters . cleaned sediment bowl.bleed the fuel ststem. put a battery in and give her a few cranks. well now is the moment... warmed her up and away she went like it was shut off last night not over 1/3 a century ago. a few magpie sticks came flying out the exhaust pipe, as it was sitting under a giant nest in that shed. it was really lazy on the acceleration and when de-cellerating it to idle it would stop. i pulled sediment bowl and gave it 4 fingers of dipetane fuel treatment and put it back on. pulled primary fuel cover and gave it some in there also. bled the system and fired it up and let it run at a fast idle for a while. took it for a ride down the road in 5th gear and went from idle to max to make the pump inards work. once i could see the grey haze on acceleration i knew the medicine did the trick. came on yard and she idles great and accelerates snappy as it should be. starts with one revolution. i have noticed also that these 282's that are not played with are some of the easiest starting units. this one is basically new, and starts like it. still has the original ground strap and fan belt also. i also did a little polishing to get rid of the pink look. controls>http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/cvvideos/cvvideo61772.mov
