I've got (2) original exaust whistles from the 1920's... Made of Nickel plated brass. I ran them off my air compressor...They are really loud and you can hear them for miles. The sound they make is just like an old steam locomotive. My dad ran them on his old Ford Model A when he was a kid. They used a butterfly valve that went in the exaust pipe and was activated by a pull cord or wire. My dad would tell me stories of how they would drive by the railroad yard and blow the whistle... the switch tender would come running out then get madder than hell when he realized 'them punk kids' were fooling with him.
