I went over to the hi-tech foundry near me and used one of their sand blasting cabinets tonight. I know the owner pretty well and he lets me come in on second shift when all the muckity mucks are gone and blast away. Tonight I saw they are making some MS carburetors again. Only about a hundred or so this time. I have seen hundreds of them there before. These are still on the 'tree'. They'll get cut off the tree and then have the molds they're in shot away in a machine. I think you can see the bowl of several of them partially exposed. A few years ago some neighbors got together and complained to the City Council about the foundry being noisy. So I asked to get up and speak. I reminded everybody that the foundry has been there for a long time. Long before they bought their houses in that neighborhood. They should gave considered the noise before they bought. Then I said I didn't mind a bit of noise as I knew the place provided a lot of good jobs. Then I told everyone that I was kinda proud to live near one of the last factories left in America and if people make it too difficult they'll just make these in China instead of here. The Council voted that the foundry was within its rights and told the people to deal with it - though not in those exact words. So keep buying these Marvel Schebler carburators guys. It's good for our local economy and I like to sandblast my tractor parts. PS they had baskets and baskets of the tails for about 75?mm mortar rounds there too tonight. They make thousands of those every year.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
