A methodical approach will be fastest. Start at the tank check fuel level then see if you have fuel flow with a stream the full size of the line not a dribble. Then go to the first filter and check flow there and change filter. If flow is good there then next filter and change while there checking flow again if good flow not a dribble then bleed line at lift pump along the way and finally at injection pump. Also loosen lines at injectors to see if fuel is being pushed out by the pump. IF so then check return line for free flow. Blow air in at the pump end listen in the tank for the air flow or bubbling. IF after this if not running then either lift pump is bad or injection pump needs some work. If it had jumped on timing I would think you would hear that and the noise made of things clashing.
