I often take pictures of the part and the model number decal before I go for parts.
When I needed a belt tensioner spring deal thingie for my corn stalk chopper, the parts man and I had a short friendly conversation about that model doesn’t have a spring tensioner at all....
I whipped out the pic, he looked at it, went back to his parts book, looked puzzled, called the manufacturer, got some numbers over the phone, and actually had all the parts I needed, he just didn’t know I needed them.......
Was a pleasant time getting parts and we didn’t have to argue at all.
Without the pic I think both of us would have had a harder day.
Parts folk must have long days some times, they get between a rock and a dumb rock a lot of times and what to do. Nearly all try very hard to make sense of things, I really appreciate those guys and gals.
