I think you will like the 10W30 synthetic and it will provide as much protection as straight 30W non synthetic.
I know for a fact that Mobil-1 10W30 will maintain higher oil pressure when hot than non synthetic 30 weight as proven in two of my garden tractors I use for mowing. They both have oil pressure gauges. Haven't tried the Super-Tech oil in those machines so I don't know if it is equally as good.
I bought a 12 Qt "Bag-in-Box" container of Walmart Synthetic 10W30 for my D-17 Allis. I still use Mobil-1 in my wife's Subaru and my Tacoma P.U. and, like I said, I still use Mobil-1 10W30 in my lawn tractors that see heavy use in very hot weather.
