The Galaxy nameplate was first used in 1959 as the top of the line Fairlane. My father had a 1959 Fairlane 500 Galaxy. They became separate models in 1960. Ford did the same thing in 1965. The top of the line Galaxy 500 was the LTD. They became separate models in 1966. My father also had a 1965 Galaxy 500 LTD. I took my road test with that one.
