Energy cell/pre-chamber diesels WILL run 180 degrees out of time, I've seen it happen several times in many years of diesel injection repair. Engines out of time will start very hard, with slow throttle response and low power. I just hope the ether used has not damaged the pistons and rings already. To know if the PSB pump is on number one cylinder with the front hub mark aligned with pointer, see if the hydraulic head gear marked tooth is visible under the two screw side cover, if gear mark can be seen pump is ready to fire cylinder one. If mark IS NOT visible then pump is ready to fire number four. I'd pull the valve cover and watch the number FOUR rocker arms, with engine near TDC the exhaust will be closing and intake starting to open on cylinder FOUR. Then you will KNOW the engine is timed to fire on cylinder one as pistons one and four are at TDC together, but engine CAM determines which one is ready to fire.
