Carb complaint or not that truck is plum dangerous, 2500 gallon tank on a single axle is to much, thats 20,000 lbs of water plus the weight of the tank, fire pump, plumbing and tool boxes full of firefighting equipment. the position of the rear axle puts the front to rear weight ratio at 55/45 or at best 60/40 so a much as 95% of the weight is setting on the rear axle, that thing is going to woller around on the road like a beached whale.
If that is a old fertilizer tank it won't have the extra anti slosh baffles that's required for fire service.
I wouldn't let that thing near our fire dept
We have a L8000 with 8.3 Cummins, 2000 gallon tank , 250 gpm fire pump between the tank and cab, rear axle is near the rear giving weight ratio of 80/20, with 14k front suspension full of water it drives like a car, it was propose build by a fire apparatus mfg.
We only gave $20k for it 6 years ago with 24k miles

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
