That place was some ones pride and joy. How true about the barn being better than the house. My Dad was born in 25 and he can never remember not having indoor plumbing and electricity. I guess they were lucky. Several of my friends can remember little plumbing or lights. When I started being an electrician in 73 , the first job we worked on was putting lights in a dairy barn, about 3 didn't wat to spend too much. My boss who was born in 69, the year i graduated, said he was born right after they got water in the house, said they had water and hot water in the barn for years before that and carried it to the house. That was in central MN. that really surprised me.
