I have two Coal fired plants within 5 miles of my house, not once in the past 50 plus years I have been on this Earth have they shut down every turbine at once,, there are several at each one, Sure they shut one down once in a while,, for maintenance,, only in peak times do they even run every one they have available,, what I think is funny is the west coast hates Coal,, but 90% of the power generated at our plants in Wyoming is sent to them, ya know to power those green electric cars lol they also have been getting rolling blackouts which just happened to have gotten a lot more frequent since the forced closure of three plants in southern Wyoming who did not chose to update their units,, both of ours are permitted to keep running for another 40 plus years,, we also have the latest and highest tech one on the planet,, both both are only venting CO2 and water vapor, the one is now adding scrubber testing to see how much CO2/carbon they can sell and the market for it which I am told is Huge,, even though CO2 hurts nothing and makes plants grow faster and bigger,, and then of course those same plants in return produce oxygen,,, some here may think I am against new tech,, NOT So,, it just has to be able to produce to be profitable,, windmills, and electric cars can not be made with out Coal and Oil yet,, so for now,, it will stay,, now if we had H-3,, which there is vast supply's of it on our Moon available to us cheap and easy to get,, that would replace a lot of fossil fuel needs,, but we or at least as far as we know do not have the tech to go mine it and bring it to Earth feasibly,, what some push today is just not yet available

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
