Terry, That method of welding on a nut does indeed work fairly well, but that assumes theres enough of the bolt sticking out to get a good weld on. Dont try to turn it too soon though, cause the heat makes the bolt soft and it will break easily. After cooling, its best then to heat the cast around the bolt to cherry red without getting too close to the bolt (softening it) before trying to remove it. The tool you linked to looks great, since my biggest problem with extractors is getting the pilot hole exactly in the center of the broken off bolt. Do not use much of any cheater on those extractors, cause when you break them off, they're almost impossible to drill out. Good luck John T in Indiana jmn50@msn.com
