There is one BTO and several well financed wannabe's around here. If you are going to bid rent based on production you will be sent down the driveway of a potential landlord every time. Your pickup truck and primary equipment better be near new if you do get someone to talk to you or you will be sent down the driveway. It's just crazy. Too much money chasing very few acres. And a vast majority of the ground is not that good. One guy did well this summer in a hard drought on one farm where as if we have a normal to wet year that farm will be lucky to yield 20 bushels per acre of soybeans and corn is a poor risk there.
