I used to drive an1978 binder 9300 with a 400 Cummins and 13 speed with a button clutch. I never did like that clutch but I got along with it. When I let the clutch out I had better have the truck pointed in the right direction because I had to rev that Cummins a bit, it didnt have the torque of a Cat, and when the clutch grabbed I was on the way in whatever direction I was pointed. There was no feel to the clutch, the clutch pedal was suspended from the dash so when the clutch started to grab the twisting of the frame and cab made it grab even quicker. Getting it going on an uphill with a soccer mom sitting behind me on my rear bumper was a little unnerving. The southbound stop light by the fire station at Clinton Oklahoma before they rerouted the highway was one of those memorable spots. That truck would have been a little nicer to drive if it had an 18 speed with a low granny.
