I think the statement about the 3 point of a tractor with live hydraulics not being affected by the clutch may not apply to some early Massey Fergusons. We had a 65 on the farm and I am pretty sure the hydraulics stop when you disengaged the two stage clutch to stop the PTO. I am also pretty sure it depended on where the 3pt lever was set as to when it would drop the 3 point when you stopped the pump. Almost seemed like it may have had something to do with the position of one of the two auxiliary valve levers. Anyway start up tractor and engage PTO. Somewhere in the 2-4 inches from clear down range the PTO should turn. Should from that point still be able to shift the trans into gear and raise clutch up more and put tractor in motion. Hopefully a true Massey expert will chime to confirm and give more info.
