I spent a week running a 4-150 for my Buddy's Dad. We had a really wet spring that flooded low spots and drownded out corn. Think it was about the first week of July I was disking up those wet spots with the 4-150 and a 14 ft disk and my buddy followed me around planting beans in the places I disked. I was running a fairly fast gear, 8-10 mph and lots of short passes, lots and lots of fast tight turns, and I jerk the steering wheel a lot anyhow, too used to 2wd tractors and light front ends not turning. After Day #2 I noticed on my way home my sides were killing me, Was like someone punched me in the k8dneys all day. I'd run a 2470 Case chisel plowing a couple days a year or two before that. It had 28Lx26 tires, no bending in the middle, it just floated across the field. Pulled the same chisel I'd pulled the year before in 3rd & 4th gear with a 4320, but about twice as fast.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
