My Father-in-law worked for Harvey Krotz Ford of Listowel for a couple of decades . Both as a licensed diesel mechanic and as their heavy tow driver .
Back in the day the diesel option was very $$$ in medium trucks , small single axle tractors etc . Trucks would be ordered gas but will the low ratio diesel differential gears . As soon as the new truck was unloaded at the dealership . The new truck would be driven to Harper DD to have a Screaming Jimmy swapped in .
He said the trip down could have a high top end speed with the high revving gasser and the low ratio diesel diff gears .
He was not there where the apprentice filled the oil bath air cleaner cups to the top with oil . He did however see the tire skid marks .
