You should have bought one of these, see link. Beware the line shown is for a gasoline models. They have others as well..kerosene,distillate. IH used special nuts with compression ferrules that were attached to the line nut but broke loose when they set one the line. Otherwise here may be a work around. Get a 5/16 compression fitting, a coupler. Slide a male nut on the line that would normally thread on to tighten to seal to line. Then install the compression fitting as normal tighten it and set the brass ferrule on the line. Loosen the compression fitting and with a hacksaw split the female nut. Do the same procedure with the other end. If you line is NOT configured with the stock coil loop you can do this with only sawing the nut off one end. No guarantees, should have bought a stock style replacement line.
