Sounds like it is running out of fuel.Or the coil is bad. About 10 min is about right for either of those two things. You rebuilt the carb, but did you check the rest of the fuel system?'Crap',rust etc can cet into the lines and partially plug things up,causeing fuel starvation. About 10 min is about right for this to happen.Remove the gas line from the carb, check for full flow, catch the gas in a can,let it run for a bit. If restricted flow, start backward to the tank, includeing the petcock, If all is well, then go to the carb. Pull the drain plug and watch.Once the carb bowl is drained, there should be a consistent flow of fuel. Let it run for a bit, catching it in a can.Or a bad coil can do that, too. When it stalls, immediately check the coil. If it really HOT,it is bad. Replace it. About 10 minites is about right for a bad coil to overheat and fail.Maybe the smoke is comeing from the coil area?

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
