The two farmer co-ops I belong to are talking merger with each other so it will be down to one if the merger goes through. If the merger does happen the loyalty to the patrons who have been member shareholders for several generations will be even less than it is now. I am off my soap box!!!
Oh, I do belong to a rural electric co-op. We do have lower rates than the other public shareholder owned power company but I have no choice in that matter. This co-op happens to own the power lines that go past my farm.
