I was born after the 50's. However I had a grandfather who served in WWI, as did his brother... to fight for freedom in the world.
I have three nephews who have been deployed into nations run under an undesirable regime in a sandy place... to help keep peace and fight for freedom in the world.
My first boss was a woman whose family escaped from E. Germany... to save their lives and once again live in freedom.
I have talked with the aforementioned people... have done some reading over the years, and watched some documentaries ... so though a child of the 60's, I am not hopelessly uninformed. I am NOT claiming we are there ...yet - just that we are on our way (starting out with small impingements - makes it more acceptable to folks, as the wool is slowly pulled over their eyes).
