holy smokes u better jump on that 40! worth a lot more than that old R. also did you know this was the first diesel model for each tractor. ihc had that diesel engine developed by 1934. it took john deere another 15 years to get their diesel R rolling. and for the first diesel its not a very powerful tractor. it dont even have a centre main brg. the WD40 has no starter but i can have it running before u get that R diesel running with that horizontal 2 cyl pup. plus the old 40's have a pretty good value to them. they are one tough tractor. ihc went backwards with the WD9 after them. plus the td14 and 18 have the same sleeves and pistons. i had an R once because it was cheap it was pretty gutless. not like my WD40 i can pull 4/16 plow in 3rd gear and it dont know the plow is behind . and 3rd is the top gear. wanna see me pulling it look on u tube wd40 tractor pulling in westlock. i have outpulled the R'S , 820. and even an 830 sometime. case 900 and and any ihc tractor up to the 660.
