Just before Christmas, I got a chance to buy a 460 High Utility that I drove about 60 years ago. It was sold as having a dash wiring fire and a bad RH wheel and tire.
When I got it apart, the engine was set up. One sleeve was pitted and had to be replaced, along with new rings and bearings. The fuel system was horrendous. The gas tank took 3 cleanings and then sealing. I threw the sediment bowl away. Carburetor was rebuilt and is still acting up. I'm using a 560 carb on it so far. I replaced the bad wheel with a rim and tire I had on hand.
Replaced the non-working gauges. When I put new antifreeze in it, the top tank seam had a leak. Its a good thing I wasn't getting paid by the hour. I couldn't afford myself.. But I drove it around yesterday. Good feeling. After i use it some and see how many more leaks it has, I will worry about possible paint. It should work well on the seeder and rake.
