She has an uncle that was a gunner on a B29 bomber that was went down on a bombing run going to Japan in WWII. She found a book there that had the reports from submarines doing life guard duty and their rescues. On Apr 27, 1945 the sub USS Gato reported on station. Report came in of a B29 down 56 miles away. Spotted other B-29's circling over the area. Spotted her uncle Gene after he had been in the water for 3 hours. Picked him up and some others as well. Not all the crew members were found however. Gene was one of the lucky ones.
