Yesterday I attended the Clifford Diehm Estate Sale held southwest of Osawatomie,KS..It was a 90 mile drive up there...It rained off and on going up but wasnt raining when I got up there....Here at home we had 1.25 of rain which isn't going to be good on the corn that has just been planted..After I got the pictures taken it started raining and rained lightly until noon..Fortunately they had sheds to sell most of the small items in...The temp was in the low 50's..There was a big crowd and things sold good. The 1969 G-900 MM diesel with 3800 hours sold for $6,100...It had brand new 18.4x38 Firestone rear tires...It started easily and ran great...All Mr Diehm had used it on was a 15 ft bush hog...I found the missing right side battery panel hanging in a shed and told the auctioneer...It got taken out to the tractor..It had a loader that went with it but it hadn't been put on..Between 1969-1985 I spent many an hour on two different G-900 MM's that Dad and I owned...They were good tractors.. The early 1960's MM M-5 LP standard with 3152 hours sold for $1,400..It stated easy and ran good..Its a pretty rare tractor. The early 1960's MM M-5 LP row crop sold for $950...It wasnt running and had front end issues as it had fell in a hole and busted things....Back in the late 1960's we had a twin to this tractor..The same buyer ended up with both M-5's.. This very nice 2008 model John Deere 5101E with loader sold for $35,500..It had 2895 hours..It needed a seal on the telescoping steering wheel.. The nice 1974? John Deere 4430 with loader sold for $19,000...It had 6365 hours, had good tires, and ran great..This is the highest priced 4430 JD with loader that I've seen sell in years...They usually go for 15K or less. The nice 1969 model John Deere 2020 gas with 2381 hours sold for an unreal $8,750..Thats way more than it sold for new..It belonged to a neighbor just to the north of the sale..
I'm having trouble loading pictures on this site...6 is all that it will let me do in one post so I'll be back with more in another post..

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
