Any normal antifreeze, Zerex, Prestone, store brands will be fine on a 6.9 and 7.3L IDI engine, the ADDITIVE is what is important. My Ford store sells Fleetrite brand, not the expensive stuff in Ford bottles. FLEET-RITE DCA ( diesel coolant additive) is fine, it's a bright blue color, same stuff in the Ford bottle, there's instructions on the bottle how much to add. My Powerstroke held 32 quarts, think I used 4 or 5 bottles of DCA on a drain & flush. I bought a bottle of FLEETRITE test strips too. Check coolant every oil change, flush & refill every 100,000 miles. I have no experience with DCA-2 Pink? SON is running some brand of extended life coolant in my PSD now, the copper injector cups in the 7.3 PSD are not supposed to be compatable with the extended life coolants but he hasn't had a problem and it's been over a year. And anywhere you see the inside of the cooling system everything looks completely clean, like when SON put a new water pump on my old truck a year ago. Thats TWO waterpumps on it now. Factory pump replaced at 128,000 miles, last year's around 310,000 miles.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
