Have you called Harry's Farm Tire in Wheatland? It would save you the cost of a tire truck visit if you could get the tractor and tires TO the truck. I've been shopping for rear tires for my Farmall M for 2 years. Local Firestone store had a great price on 15.5x38 Firestone Super All Traction 2 tires, seems like was around $549/ea. They bought lots and they haven't sold that well. They priced 13.6x38 and 14.9x38 at more than the 15.5's, but my M has 13.6x38, 12 inch rims, was going to cost over $500 to get DW-14x38 rims. I've pretty much decided to get MITAS tires, they make so many different tread designs, I want a straight 45 degree lug, no bulges, no bends, they're made in CHARLES CITY, IOWA. I know GOODYEAR is now TITAN made at the old Kelly-Springfield Plant on Rt 20 east edge of Freeport, Illinois, and I have lots of friends, old co-workers in Freeport, but I really don't care for the looks or price of any GY or Titan tire. Every tire store I've talked to pushes the BKT. They're made in INDIA. DAD spent THREE terrible years in India in WW-2, I won't insult Dad by putting Indian made tires on His old M.

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
