Slighted on this topic before, awhile back. Had a good neighbour, 3 days older than me passed this last Feb. 4, 30 years ago, welding on a rim. Truck tire on a V box, 11-22's. Blew his head pretty much off and blew the steel out on the shed he was in. His cousin told me a year or so later, ya know that rim really wasn't that hot, sometime those rims are seated with ether. Welding on a rim with a tire with air in it is a no no. Seating tires is something I don't know too much about, while it might be tempting to get a tire changer, there are three within a mile radius, I'll spend the money and trust it to a professional.
