The more I think about it, raise your budget up to the $5000 range and look for a Deere 1020 or 2020. They're a low utility, wide front, three point and have hydraulic brakes, 12 volt electric so you can easily rig lights on the wagon if you have a hay ride on the road. Don't confuse them with a 1010 or 2010 though. Entirely different tractors.
