The thread below got me to thinking, as so many wear their bib overalls over top of other clothes, and most wear coveralls over regular clothes too. So how much larger size do you buy to be able to wear another whole set of clothes under your bibs? And some bib overalls just have one size in them like 38Reg or 42 Reg 42Tall, while others have a size like 38x 30 or 42x 36, and again Reg and Tall. The Reg and Tall part is self explanatory, but the ones with only one size, I guess its the chest size? While the others are chest waist? Coveralls seem to only have one number size offered. So I get 46x38 bibs to wear with just a shirt underneath , but need 48 or 50 coveralls to wear over other clothes. And I have found that sizes from one brand to the next brand mean little to nothing. One kind of bibs I have bought size 48 , thinking I could wear them as a second layer while out in cold weather. After a couple times through the wash , cannot be worn with anything extra underneath but long johns. Nylon coveralls hold their size best, but can catch on fire when using a torch or hand grinder. So do you buy them a size bigger than you need, and watch them shrink? Or buy them a size too large, and grow into them , lol
