The only test that would pass my judgement would be to pressurize it to 20 psi with a small amount of water or coolant above it. That is impractical given the ease of doing what old indicates. The delay is cheap compared to wasting the time and investment in gaskets to assume it will not leak. it could leak immediately, or a year from now. Sometimes they leak when new and not nipped. Jim
