I buy gas for my equipment 20 gals. at a time in 5 gal. cans and when the pump registers 20 gals. every can is filled to the top.
We also have a deal with the local grocery store where you accumulate points for gas at a local station with a limit of 20 Gals.
I take 4 5 gal. cans each time and while filling the last can, the flow slows down for a few seconds before stopping at the 20 Gal. limit but I always get my full 20 Gals.
Here in N.Y. State the pumps are calibrated regularly by the County Bureau of Weights and Measures.
I've never heard of any problems but you never know, I suppose there could be a crook out there somewhere.
