Kansas changed their laws years back. Purple paint is for no hunting only and has no legal significance for no trespassing. Still need the no trespassing signs if worried about that. The purple stripe has to be at least 8" long and vertical and positioned between 3' and 5' above ground level. Paint it on trees, fence posts, etc. Put a post at any place hunters may enter.
No hunting signs are not legally valid here if you want to prosecute the violators. Kansas requires by statute "Hunting with written permission only" signs. I think the law was passed that way so as to not make Kansas hostile to hunters. Those signs are hard to find but I finally did. They usually have a line for phone numbers but I just write in "landowner" on the line after the call. The statute has no requirement for putting a phone number on the sign.
Kansas law does allow hunters to go onto adjacent land to retrieve wounded deer/coyotes etc. no matter what kind of keep out, no hunting, and no trespassing signs may be on a place.
Kansas also has a law that if you stock your pond with fish then you have to allow others in to fish. I doubt that most people in the general public would know unless someone told them so not usually a problem that comes up.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
