It doesn't have to be done that way. I bought a garden hose attachment from the Kubota dealer that adapts a garden hose to a schrader valve. First you let all the air out of the tractor tire, then turn on the water and fill until the tire looks normal. Then let the air out again and repeat until water comes out instead of air when you open the valve. Easy. Getting antifreeze into it is a little more complicated. I made a tool to do it from a discarded garden hose and a funnel. I put the antifreeze in first (gravity feed) then did the garden hose bit mentioned above. Worked well. A couple of comments tho. First, you need about a 50-50 or 25-75 mix of antifreeze and water to make sure it doesn't freeze in winter. This can get to be 10-20 gallons. Not cheap! Second, there is a lot of opinions regarding how much water to put in the tires. Seems everyone agrees that if you fill half way it reduces tipping. Fill any more and it may or may not help, depending on how tall the tires are with respect to the rest of the tractor. Filling more will, however, always improve traction. Lastly, watch out for leaks. Antifreeze is very poisonous to cats and dogs and they love the taste.
