Reminds me of when I was working for a neighbor back in the 1960's. Had a one-way (that's what we call them) like that and when we had to move across a black-top road to another field, we would put the rubber tire on the make the 40' trip, then change back to the big heavy steel wheel. Remember pulling the one-way with a JD 820 diesel. A few years later he traded the one-way for a heavy off-set disk and he told me he was never very satisfied with the one-way because when working wheat stubble it was usually too dry to get good penetration in the dry soil so he got the off-set disk and said it worked much better. Seemed about every wheat farmer had a one-way. My dad bought a new 12' JD in about 1951 and it was raised by a lever, one on each end. Wasn't the most enjoyable machine to operate.
