Pull starting beats a battery every time. Could just be still some air trapped in the system if it ran before. I've had quite a time getting some of mine to start after a filter change. Numerous bleed attempts finally got the old Perkins powered Massey to fire. Same on the 2090 this spring. These engines are in good shape and normally great starters but a little bit of air in the fuel system can be a big problem.
