Hello, DB welcome to YT. Did you check with the service department of your local Deere dealer to see if they have a clue? I suspect your issue has to do with some safety device in the starter circuit switch, relay etc. First thing to check would be for a battery voltage of 12.6 when it does not start. Second would be to see if it is getting power to the engagement terminal on the solenoid when turned to the start position. Beyond this pretty difficult without a wiring diagram. I will attach a link to show others what this tractor looks like.
