Kevin I have a manual for a New Holland 53A thrower and cant find it this minute. Its been close to 30 years ago I had a New Holland but I throttled down when baleing even though you are supposed to be at PTO speed. Definitely missing parts I think you can adjust it so its not launching them to the moon and not have to keep readjusting it. I ran some old New Hollands starting with a 66 68 271 and 273. Then had a IH 430 I cobbled a New Holland thrower on. It worked but wasnt reliable. We had a local monthly equipment auction my dad and I would go to and find some treasure to drag home. Found an old IH 47 baler with a newer IH thrower and put that one on the IH 430. In 1990 traded that in on a New CaseIH baler. Still had trouble with it but was not operator error dealer gave me the wrong PTO which I spotted when they delivered it.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
