Cancellation of the XL pipeline raises prices due to the interjection of instability in the market place. Since our current administration has ties to trucking, they want the oil hauled so it pads his pocket. Which is many times less safe than a pipeline. Less threat from competition from the pipeline also leaves the trucking free to raise hauling costs.
