Well I am a retired mechanic and I hate(dislike really) greasing anything. My secret is out. But, I probably over grease almost everything I use, and I can grease most of my equipment without getting very dirty. And I change oil more frequently than specified. But I don't want to fix something that could be prevented with MAINTANANCE. Anymore I wear gloves, usually the latex ones, and I use blue shop paper towels that I bought at Fastenal. The paper towels are very heavy duty. Comes in a great big roll. Way better than those you get at auto parts stores. I am frugal to a point, but I believe in spending money where I get the most use out of it. With the shop towels I use them first to check oil and wipe my hands from other jobs, and so forth. Then I reuse them when I grease things. In fact sometimes I can reuse a blue towel several times, before I pitch it. That big roll cost $80 @ Fastenal, but is well worth it because of the reusable factor. As far as greasing, if you don't already have one, get a Lock-n-Lube coupler end for your gun hose. You get it in a kit which has adapters for *90 angles that you can't get the gun, and a adapter that goes down into recessed holes that are too narrow for the lock n lube coupler. Mark.
