I have been involved with the design of electronic control systems for boom folding, for a manufacturer of agricultural sprayers for a number of years. Most of the systems are electro-hydraulic with solenoid valves and rams but sometime we have used Warner Electric Actuators.
It can get very complicated depending on how your booms fold but if you are just lifting the end section vertical to 90 degrees it should not be too bad.
I feel your pain :0), yesterday I sprayed my potatoes for blight with my old, manually folded sprayer and getting on and off the tractor and folding the booms, with doggy knees and a strained hip is not pleasant.
