My son has a 550 with a loader. It's been tough, reliable and handy little tractor.
The one weak spot seems to be the power steering. While it works it's been plagued with leaks from both the steering cylinders and the pump. Also the generator recently quit working. This is somewhat problematic as the PS hung onto and driven off the rear of the generator. This makes the generator somewhat of an oddball - replacement or rebuild may be difficult.
He'd like to do a 12 volt alternator conversion to get rid of the generator. But this requires cobbing up an alternate belt-driven steering pump, or adding an alternator and leaving the inoperative generator/pump in place to drive the pump.
Aside from the above it's been a very good tractor for him.
