I have 60 foot booms that fold forward and raise hydraulically. Each side can be folded independently of the other and raised separately too. Mine will swing back with springs to pull it back to alignment after a bush. I do try not to have them catcgh brush or posts. 20 footers would not be much of a problem. Bigger ones will put a lot of strain on the frame holding them if you fold them while driving like that. I do drive up to poles or trees then back up some so the boom will swing forward to clear then drive forward some and swing the boom back out to the pole then go on from there. Mine fold vertically and swing forward to fold up. If yours fold into an X when in transport then you will have more trouble getting them to fold for brush and poles.
