First post. I am excited to be on this forum. I was recently able to obtain my dad's 1963 John Deere 3010 which he bought new in 1964 (left over inventory). He sold it to a neighbor in about 1992. The neighbor passed away earlier this year and I was able to buy the tractor from his partner. Dad grew up on a share cropper farm and bought his first farm in about 1952 or 53 (I was born in 59). According to what I have been told his first tractor was an A/C but I'm not sure of the size. He then bought a JD H, then a 50. I'm not sure if he traded both or just one in on the 3010 but from the H onward all his personal tractors were John Deere: 430, 520, 4010, early 4020, late 4020, and 4630 (not in sequential order). We did have a couple of IH (706, 1456) and one Ford (9000) on the farm that belonged to my brother. What I would really like to know is where I might find a hydraulic cylinder of the type that JD sold in the early 1960s. I have a JD #5 mower that I would like to use with this tractor but I don't have a cylinder to lift it. I would like to keep things as original as possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed. Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
