If you don't like to see the rat suffer, your making it very hard for us. The way I see it either the rat suffers or you suffer. Which will it be? Had them start under one of my grain bins a few years ago. Poured old drain oil down every hole. I don't know if they died down there or crawled out and left. Either way no more rats. When I saw that worked, I started pouring it down mouse holes. Now no more mice either.
